I've got it made

I am not making this entry because I need to talk myself into a good mood. It's just that there are so many great things happening for me that sometimes I don't gloat about. And it's my blog, so I'll be gloating!

Read on if you give a damn.

My job is very damned easy. If anyone needs to jump back into work, there is no softer way to go than hosting at a restaurant. Even easier is the wine hosting, where I make ten dollars an hour for chatting to guests and maybe pouring a sample.

I am going to be teaching Hip Hop in the fall. New Energy and World's both want me, so whoever makes the best offer will have me.

My daughter has been invited to move up a level in ballet even though she will only be seven, and Level Four is for eight and nine year olds. I'm thinking of leaving her in Level Three due to teacher preference and scheduling, but I'm very pleased! I'm mostly happy that she's found something that she loves to do and is so talented at.

My son is in a swim class and is being soooo brave and cute. I love seeing his tiny self all in his own class. Here's to hoping I feel the same way when he's in daycare. OOPS! Nope, can't go there....that's another blog.

I have a plan for fall. I won't be working namby pamby hours for inkky dinky pay. I have a childcare plan. Things are at least not up in the air anymore. That's such a relief.

There are other plans in place that are big reliefs but I can't really talk about them here.

So that's that!

Camping reprised

One of my first blog entries was about my Camping Hell experience. My feelings on that have all changed now. I love it!

Sarah and I have been a few times. We've set up a tent by ourselves in the dark while the kids were in her van. Last week, we set up AND tore down in less than a half hour, because we realized that my tent was missing the rods. (Duh! They were back home in my car. Note to self: Clean trunk more often!) We finally went again on Sunday. It was so peaceful, so much fun, so soul-satisfying.

First of all, we went in Athens, one of my favorite places on the planet. We had the pleasure of hopping around the town for dinner and a nice long walk. If you ever are in Athens, Ohio, do check out Casa Nueva

Secondly, it makes me feel great to be able to take two kids and set up a camp! I have lived so much of my life dependent on people to show me how to do things...it just feels good to not have to have anyone's help for once.

Another thing I love about camping is the lack of electric noises. No TV, no cell phones, no hum of the computer. I don't even realize that the noise is THERE until it is gone sometimes, if that makes any sense.

I can't wait to go back. I love the feeling I get when I can look at my sleeping kids right next to me and the next vision I see is the stars all around. Ahhh, camping. Total change of perspective.

Peace,
Kym

No news

I just wanted to have a blog entry. I really have no news. Was in the parade on July 4, and I danced at Rustie Blue's show as well.
