While I'm talking money mismanagement

Do you think it's ethical to donate $100 to the Firefighter's Union one month before you are interviewed to seek their endorsement? Because my opponent sent a check to the Local 291 PAC on July 18th, which he described on the "for" line as supporting the Fire Levy (a campaign that had ended in May) and we were not interviewed until the second week of August.

Smell fishy to anyone besides me?

Did I mention I am so tired?

Tired of this whole thing mostly.

I am running two of my signs to every 1 of his, but somehow he has managed to spend $3K already. I looked back over his financials and it's just ridiculous. He has so mismanaged his money for this whole thing!

I am tired tired tired. Just ready for it to be over. Don't much even care at this point whether I win or not. Just want to be done.

And my baby girl is six. How is that possible?

I'll try to post pics of her birthday tomorrow. Too tired tonight. Can't find camera cord to hook up to computer. Too tired to look for it.

How in the world did I get here?

Happy Fall Back day. Hope you got some sleep for the extra hour. I did, but it wasn't nearly enough. I need about a month of sleep by now!

Running into the Enemy

So I was at Office Max this evening making more copies of my flyers (in black and white this time, which ticks me off but is far less work and also less expensive) and the clerk was packaging up a job she had just finished.

It was set of flyers encouraging the reader to join the Young Republicans in voting for the same old crowd of same old dudes. (you know, the bad guys).

And who do you think had brought those flyers in to be copied? Yes, it was Mr. Hoffman. You know, the guy from the entry before this one. And he skulks back to the back of the store because he sees me at the register -- well maybe he didn't really skulk, but it looked like skulking to me.

So my job finishes and the kids and I roll back to the back of the store to see what he's up to. Apparently he has a home office to furnish, because he was really checking out the hutches and desks and credenzas (He was mosty just looking at desks, I just like the word credenza). We roll up and he's looking at me kinda hesitantly, like maybe I won't know who he is or maybe he will pretend like he doesn't know who I am.

I stuck out my hand and introduced myself and made it clear that I knew who he was and do you know what that turkey said? He said, "Okay, you know that wasn't personal right, it was just politics, right?" And I grinned big as could be and said, "Of course and I hope you understood that what I wrote wasn't personal either, because I was starting to worry that I'd hurt your feelings."

We had a nice chat. But that doesn't make him any less of a moron.

Can't remember what I was gonna

say here. I opened up the editing page for some really good reason, but now I don't know what it was.

I wish my kids would stop falling out of bed tonight. They keep falling out or conking each other in the head (with their heads). I think it's too hot in there so they are restless. It is still August, right?

Hey, thanks everybody for your help in keeping me UP with this campaign. I really need the positive vibes. Oh, and I should also remember my meds... Blah blah blah.

Goodnight all!

Slogging along

Actually, that sounds more lethargic than I actually am. I've had a pretty productive weekend, despite some frustrations, and I'm looking forward to a good week, but it all seems to go so slowly.

Until it goes really really really fast. I'm a little worried that my yard signs won't get here until after the fair, in which case I am just screwed. I think if I can get people to look at my website, I may have a chance. My opponent's website is just his campaign poster. How lame. I was really looking forward to something to criticize!

This whole kitchen table campaign thing keeps making me giggle. Tuesday I am going to sit down and figure out when Matthew and I will go door to door. Probably we will start on Wednesday. Anybody wanna go with?
