Happy Mother's Day

Napoleon.jpg

My mom loves Napoleons, so I got her one for Mother's Day. Alas, she wasn't here.

So I ate it for her. Wasn't that nice of me? It was very tasty.

Love you Mom!

I'm 37, I'm not old!

Today I am listening to the Ben Folds "Rocking the Suburbs" album that my mother got me -- please note that she also got it autographed for me. The story of how that happened is funny, but I'll let her tell it.

Yesterday it was my birthday. I could launch into some Paul Simon lyrics now, but I won't.

I've been absent for kind of a long time. I am trying to figure out where I belong now and what I'm doing next and that's hard for me when I don't feel like I have a lot of control. I'm not good with feeling like I don't have a lot of control. I've never been very good with that feeling. Trust in providence or whatever has never been one of my strongest suits. I'm okay with fly by the seat of your pants for lots of things -- crafting, carpentry, knitting, stuff like that I don't need so much in the way of patterns or plans (or measurements...) but when it comes to the bigger stuff about life, I am less good about hanging around waiting for the next thing to happen.

But I am so grateful for the support of everybody. I think I'm back for now. Still crazy after all these years...
