This time it is a cough that just won't go away.
And Mara's teacher is apparently not listening to her. Dammit I am ready to pull her out and homeschool already. I'm calling to set up an appointment tomorrow, because this is going to get resolved pronto.
There's plenty more to say, but I am feeling less comfortable with the blog format these days that I was. I have a weird sense of being -- not exactly stalked, but not quite free to say what I want to say and I find that vexing.
Hope you are well.
Hey folks,
Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. I've been doing stuff.
Matthew is still dry and staying dry through the night. The poop thing is still needing reminders and bribes, but he has not had an accident for a long while now. NOTE: the day after my last entry, we had three accidents, two of them poop-related. The two or three days following were not much better. It took about another week (and more bribing -- usually with computer time) to get things in gear. But since then we have been sailing.
Mara started 2nd grade and seems to be enjoying it enormously. She is very unwilling to start her homework as soon as she gets home, so we need to keep working on that routine. Piano practicing is also a major issue with her these days. I made her a little chart with all the pieces she's supposed to be working on, so she can check off when she has practiced them. That seems to be appealing to the anal-retentive side of my girl-child, so we are doing a little better. I just made the chart yesterday so...
I am busy with any number of things, most of which are not actually all that interesting.
Tim is back at school, finally not having to travel between buildings -- for the first time in 9 years he gets to stay in one room! But, since they closed the freshman school, the high school is seriously overcrowded and feels like a sardine can. Apparently 9th and 10th graders have developed a strategy for moving through the halls that goes like this: find a football player and follow in the wake... But so far it seems okay I think.
Uh, I'm not sure what else to say. I thought I broke my foot on Sunday, but it appears to have just been a pulled ligament or something similar. After six x-rays and 2 days of rest and not driving, it seems to be all better. But that was exciting while it lasted. A friend here in town accused me of just needing attention. I did not slap her because we were talking on the phone. I felt like it though.
So far no late to school days, so I guess my career as a child abuser is as unsuccessful as every other career I've attempted so far. I really ought to try harder I guess.
This is the most boring blog entry ever. Are you satisfied now?
I'm going to bed. You probably should too.
